From Beginners to Advanced (L1-4), ages 12-adult; you can start at any time. No prior dance experience is needed. The main dance styles are:
Ballroom + Latin - part of the Dancesport repertoire. We specialise in social dance. Medal tests are available.
Argentine Tango - all forms.
Salsa - genuine LA style (On1), New York style (On2), Cuban.
Bachata, Merengue.
Latin Rock - this is a form of Modern Jive, whose other commercial names include Le Bop, LaRoc, Ceroc, etc - our Latin Rock has definite yet subtle footwork and timing, different styling, lots of new moves, and is unique.
Casual classes and courses. You don’t have to bring a partner. Courses are normally 10 weeks.
'Medal tests'. These are available at Planet Dance. They are formal examinations, conducted by an external examiner from the NZ Federal Association of Teachers of Dance Inc. They will be available in all the dance styles taught by Planet Dance. For more information, please ask.
Teacher trained by world-class internationals, including world champions in Salsa and Tango: proper technique, usable skills, stylish moves, graded programmes, and a great atmosphere, with fun, safety, and excellent value for money. Private lessons are available (for wedding couples too).

Performances, parties, practices; course completion and formal assessment certificates are available.
Your goals might include social dancing, learning to dance for your wedding (we can photograph your wedding too), new friends, general and dance fitness, weight loss, basic or advanced training, Shows, and competitions.
There is something for everyone.
We can also come to your venue to teach or perform - for parties, work functions, etc. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
There are performance opportunities during the year, and we have a professional end-of-year Show (with Jazz Unlimited Dance Studio) for students who wish to participate.
DRESS CODE:
Clothing: Smart casual.
Footwear: Dance shoes are preferred; otherwise shoes which will not mark the floor. Smooth soles are best.
