Uniforms for Classes
JAZZ
From Introductory 5 and up, only black jazz shoes and black ankle socks are to be worn to class. For lower levels, bare feet.
Official studio leotards must be worn from Introductory 1 to Elementary 3. Official studio singlets must be worn from Intermediate 1 and up. These can be purchased from the studio.
Hair must be tied up and off the face.
Movement restricting items of clothing such as skirts, jeans, and short-shorts are not to be worn in class.
BALLET
Pre-primary and Primary:
Pink leotard with skirt, Ballet socks and shoes, stockings optional
Grade 1—3:
Blue leotard, stockings and ballet shoes
Grade 4-5:
Maroon Leotard, stockings and ballet shoes
Intermediate Foundation:
Black leotard, stockings, ballet shoes and pointe shoes
Intermediate—Advanced:
Black leotard, regulation chiffon skirt, stockings, ballet flats and pointe shoes.
TAP
There is no formal uniform for Tap classes. Tap shoes are required.
Exams
Exams are not compulsory, but are highly recommended. They provide an incentive to do well, an independent benchmark for evaluating individual students and the studio. We are well known for our excellent exam results.
JAZZ
Jazz Exams. These are held in Term 3 every year, usually around mid-August. An external and impartial professional examiner will assess the students presented by the studio.
TAP
Tap Exams. These are held in Term 3 every year, usually in late August. An external and impartial professional examiner will assess the students presented by the studio.
BALLET
Ballet Exams. These are held in Term 3 every year, usually in early September. An external and impartial professional examiner will assess the students presented by the studio.
