Teachers

Chelsea Lemon Chelsea is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Science and a Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours at the University of Waikato. She has been dancing for 16 years in the American Jazz Dance Affiliation (AJDA) syllabus, and began teaching the ADJA syllabus in 2009. She has also trained in Ballet (RAD), Hip Hop (BBDS), New Zealand Association of Modern Dance Jazz (NZAMD) and NCEA Dance. She also has a current First Aid Certificate and a Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology.
Laurelle Laurelle joined Jazz Unlimited Dance studio in 1998 and began teaching in 2007. She has trained in various dance styles including American Jazz and American Tap with Jazz Unlimited (where she received the top mark in New Zealand for her Intermediate 3 exam), Contemporary Dance with the University of Waikato and Cheerleading with the Suzuki Cheerleaders and the Waikato NPC Zone Cheerleaders. Laurelle was also a 2010 Sir Edmund Hillary Dance Scholar with the University of Waikato during her time there. In her spare time Laurelle choreographs for events and shows (including the Restyle Wearable Arts Awards) in the Waikato area as well as adjudicating dance competitions around New Zealand.
Lisa Fickling Lisa started Ballet when she was 7 and did most of her training with Susanne Hanger School of Dance in Tauranga. Lisa studied both ballet and jazz, as well as contemporary. She has completed Solo Seal for both Ballet and Jazz (TDI) and Level 6 Comptemporary (NZAMD). Lisa started assistant teaching when she was 16 and joined the Jazz Unlimited Team in 2008.
Nicky Brown Nicky has a long background in Hip Hop, and began teaching at Jazz Unlimited in 2009.
Kristen McNutt Kristen has done Advanced Classical Ballet, and was trained at the prestigious BBO Dance Education Centre in Tauranga.
Ashley Gray Ashley has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She has a background in many styles of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Urban, Musical Theatre, Argentine Tango, Salsa and Latin rock. Ashley is most interested and experienced in Hip Hop and competitive Rock 'N' Roll. She is currently in her third year of studying law and politics at Waikato University.
Tess Benseman Tess has been dancing for 11 years, with extensive training in Jazz with the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance syllabus (NZAMD) and Tap with the Ballet Australasia Limited syllabus (BAL). She has also trained in AJDA Jazz, NCEA Dance and is a trained junior AJDA tap teacher.
